Friends of Lumpy Hill
The Friends are a group of parents and neighbours who feel that Lumpy Hill Adventure Playground is a wonderful place for children to play and socialise, invent, build, and learn. Sadly, Lumpy Hill and other adventure playgrounds are at risk from funding cuts, so we formed in January 2017 to help protect and support this vibrant and stimulating play-space.
We:
Fundraise for activities, arts & craft, baking materials, trips, and projects.
Volunteer our time and skills to maintain and improve Lumpy Hill.
Campaign to support and protect the Adventure Playground services.
Please help – give what you can, and join our mailing list to hear about events and news. We also run the fruit & veg project, grow stuff, repair stuff, build stuff, tidy stuff and clear weeds, and help out wherever we can. Activities take place outside play hours, at evenings and weekends.
FoLH Aims
- Fundraise for additional activities, trips, projects etc. to benefit the children who use Lumpy Hill Adventure playground. Money raised should not be used to pay for day to day running of the site.
- Provide funds, time and skills to support play projects e.g. building new equipment, repairing existing equipment, gardening and maintenance etc.
- Protect and support Lumpy Hill as a free and safe space to play for local children. This includes non-political lobbying/campaigning to safeguard existing funding and protect the site from development for any other purpose other than as a playground (if necessary).
